These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding legal agreement between you and Jacob Self (“we”, “us”, or “our”) and govern your access to and use of The Standard mobile application (the “App”). These Terms also serve as the End User License Agreement (EULA) between you and us with respect to the App.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read these Terms and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not download, install, or use the App.

If we form a company in the future (e.g., an LLC), these Terms will be assigned to and assumed by the new operating entity and updated accordingly. You will be notified through the App before that assignment takes effect.

At a glance

• The Standard is a personal habit-tracking and self-accountability tool. It is not a medical or mental-health service.
• You can use the App anonymously or with an email-and-password account. There is no fee to download or use the basic App.
• Optional subscription: $4.99/month or $29.99/year (3-day free trial for new subscribers). Auto-renews until you cancel. Manage cancellations in your device’s subscription settings.
• You own everything you write in the App. We just store and sync it for you.
• All purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refunds are handled by them.
• You can delete your account and all data at any time inside the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 if you reside in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland) to use the App. If you are under the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction (typically 18), you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and accepts these Terms on your behalf, and you may use the App only with their permission.

By using the App, you also represent that:

• You are not legally prohibited from using the App under the laws of your country, state, or province.
• You are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist-supporting” country, and you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
